Sports is an activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively. Sports commonly refer to activities where the physical capabilities of the competitor are the sole or primary determiner of the outcome (winning or losing), but the term is also used to include activities such as mind sports (a common name for some card games and board games with little to no element of chance) and motor sports where mental acuity or equipment quality are major factors. There are artifacts and structures that suggest that the Chinese engaged in sporting activities as early as 4000 BC.[1] Gymnastics appears to have been a popular sport in China(s) ancient past. Monuments to the Pharaohs indicate that a number of sports, including swimming and fishing, were well-developed and regulated several thousands of years ago in ancient Egypt.[2] Other Egyptian sports included javelin throwing, high jump, and wrestling. Ancient Persian sports such as the traditional Iranian martial art of Zourkhaneh had a close connection to the warfare skills.[3] Among other sports that originate in Persia are polo and jousting. A wide range of sports were established by the time of Ancient Greece and the military culture and the development of sports in Greece influenced one another considerably. Sports became such a prominent part of their culture that the Greeks created the Olympic Games, which in ancient times were held every four years in a small village in the Peloponnesus called Olympia.[4] Industrialization has brought increased leisure time to the citizens of developed and developing countries, leading to more time for citizens to attend and follow spectator sports, greater participation in athletic activities, and increased accessibility. These trends continued with the advent of mass media and global communication. Professionalism became prevalent, further adding to the increase in sport(s) popularity, as sports fans began following the exploits of professional athletes through radio, television, and the internet--all while enjoying the exercise and competition associated with amateur participation in sports. In the new millennium, new sports have been going further from the physical aspect to the mental or psychological aspect of competing. Cyber sports organizations are becoming more and more popular. Activities where the outcome is determined by judgement over execution are considered performances, or competition. With the changes in the world new changes have come about in the world of sports, new guidelines for sports have come into light and have changed activities that were once viewed as sports into competitions. The course is par 71 and is 5567metres in length so clip that in half and you receive a 9 hole course approximately par 35 and 2000 metres. 2 of us have played golf before and are okayish, while the other 3 have never played.

I'm a 13 year old girl, and I just can't find a way to adore anyone in my family. I'll start with my brother - he's exactly the nice of person I would never like - popular among his friends because he's a show-off, teases boys because they're not "chilly". And my mum seems proud of his popularity. And he's such a bl***y show-off. To his friends, to everybody. Then there's my mum. I know she doesn't adore me; she says regularly how I'm such a pain in the a*se. Sure, she pays heaps of money for me, for music tuition, but she doesn't give any of her spare time to spend time on me like she does with my brother. Every night she'll read to him and put him to bed. She calls him a "little boy" even though he's eleven, acts like there's a five year age gap even though it's only two years. She expects me to act so much older than him. For example, next week my grandma's getting eye surgery. When she comes home, she has to have a "responsible adult" (yes, notice the word ADULT) with her for 24 hours, so I have to snooze the night at her home so mum can "put David to bed" (david's my brother). every she does is complain about being a working mom, how she has no time. Well she finds time to do things with him. For example, I have a game I got for my birthday from my cousins, a board game. I asked my mum if she would play it with me, she said no. A day later, my brother and my mum were playing my game. Then there's my dad. I don't have much to say about him because he's always at work, except for on Sundays when he plays golf with his friends. Notice when I say always, I mean from 7:45 AM to 7:30 PM. And at 8:00 we have to receive ready for bed: showers, etcera. In the morning we have to receive ready for school. One of the only times we receive to spend with him is pupil free days, when he takes a day off work and me and david hike up mount lofty with him. Something only my dad enjoys. How can I adore them? I just don't! As if they'd play a board game with the whole family! So not them.

When I will be buying this set of irons I will be 15 (about 50 days), and I was wondering which set of irons i should receive. The lowest iron I possess right now is a 5 iron, which I can hit about 160 yards. However, I am not consistent with my 5 or my 6 iron. So I would like something that gives you a little more consistency in my iron game as I am trying to make at least jv golf as a freshman. My price range is anywhere from $700-$800. The two ideas I had already were Callaway X-20 or Nike VR Full Cavity irons. I would like to receive steel irons as they are not only cheaper, but I like the feel better. Any help is appreciated.

All games since the NES (don't bother w/ Game & Watch games), including games like Super smash bros, mario party, and mario golf. Do not list games in which Mario has a cameo but is not playable. Do list games in which Mario has a very tiny role as long as he is playable at one time or another. For example, you should count Yoshi's Island. Although you control Yoshi most of the time, there is star power up that lets you temporarily control Mario. Factors in choosing the best answers include quality, organization, & completeness. Thank you. By the way, you don't have to list ports if they are exact remakes (like Virtual Console on Wii). If your curious why I'm asking, it's because my goal is to beat every game in which Mario is a playable character.

I received a big driving net for my backyard for christmas. Now comes the dilemma - what to hit off? My grass out back definitely wouldn't stand the divots. So what i need is a good "astro turf" style hitting mat. I shopped around and bought a strip of a similar material, but the salesman told me to fill it with sand. However, you have to keep filling it up with sand to maintain it. I realise i need a good quality surface to hit from that prevents "bounce" of the golf club and more replicates a divot. What can anyone recommend?

Okay. I play golf. I started last summer. I finally went to a driving range after about 3 months. My body isn't used to twisting and turning like that, I know it isn't. I was sore for about 2 days. But, it was on the sides and it went away. Now it's in the middle of my back. I know because I took a swing and it's exactly where it hurts. I tried streching a bit, but it didn't help. If I lay on the ground and kinda roll on my back, there's that one spot that hurts. Any suggestions? I'm 15...

NOT counting gymnastics/dance or like karate. out of these: football baseball/softball hockey soccer golf lacrosse basketball MY OPINION: baseball/softball, because you may be able to kick a soccer ball, but people have the most trouble trying to hit a baseball coming at them. it takes years of practice/skill to receive that down. and getting a difficult ball hit at them on the ground and fielding it cleanly is tough for someone who hasn't played.. thats just my opinion. your answer: just answer the sport , no explanation needed; this is a survey because i was curious as to what youd say

The path of the ball for many golf shots can be modelled by a quadratic function. The path of a golf ball hit at an angle of about 10 degrees to the horizontal can be modelled by the function h = -0.002d^2 + 0.4d where h is the height of the ball, in metres, and d is the horizontal distance the ball travels, in metres, until it first hits the ground. a) What is the maximum height reached by the ball? b) What is the horizontal distance of the ball from the golfer when the ball reaches its maximum height? c) What distance does the ball travel horizontally until it first hits the ground? I think the equation represents a parabola going down so the highest point would be the vertex. But how would I calculate the vertex of this? Looking at the back of my textbook gives me the answers: a) 20m b) 100m c) 200m Can someone explain how to receive these calculations?

Ok... I was dating this guy for almost 3 years. We talked about having a family looked at buying a home. He worked out of town Mon- Fri and just came home on the weekends. He lived with me when he was home. I was very into his family as he was with mine. Just oneday out of the blue he was acting every silly went golding with his pal and when I called him later that night he said he didn;t want to look me anymore. I was so very upset. He wouldn't talk to me or even pick up the phone when I would call. I was heart broken. Six months went by and still nothing. I have a huge thing to attend and ask "gary" the ex if he would attend with me. He said NO im going out of town golfing. So I got set up on a blind date. He came to pick me up and I really didn't know what to do or how to act as soon as we walked into the bar that the party was being held I ran into one of the ex's coworkers and he goes on to tell me my ex had cheated on me with some lady they work with for almost a year and half. So I told myself Im going to make sure I have fun with my date tonight. and I did. i didn't snooze with him or anything but we danced and had a good time. Well that was 3 months ago and im still with the guy. So sweet. Well my ex is upset now because he lost me. He wants me back but just hasnt came out and said it. I feel bad that hes upset.. PLEAS HELP WHAT SHOULD I DO???NEVER TALK TO HIM AGAIN? BLOW HIM OFF???I JUST DONT KNOW.. I REALLY LIKE THIS NEW GUY AND I DONT WANT TO MESS THINGS UP WITH HIM..
